One of the common issues I face in working with CEO’s and other business leaders is the resistance we all have to making tough decisions.
Usually, they’re decisions that we have already made but haven’t been willing to execute. They’re things that we know are right but we fear the reaction of others and don’t want to ruffle any feathers to accomplish our objective.
In our daily affairs, this comes up in many ways – giving unbiased feedback to our employees, demanding a high standard from our vendors, insisting that our customers deal with us fairly, collecting receivables, etc.
Don’t hesitate to make the tough calls and do the right thing.
You’ll get more done … you’ll clear the obstacles to your success … and you’ll sleep much better! Jay Golz elaborates on this message at CNN/Money.
