Hang in there, CEO’s. The world isn’t coming to an end quite yet. According to a blurb in the NY Times on Sunday, CEO’s don’t think the economy is in a tailspin. In fact, while 30% expect their U.S. employment to decline, 28% expect it will grow and the remaining 40% believe it will remain unchanged. The CEO’s were more robust in their sales outlook, with 2/3 expecting higher sales over the next six months. While their outlook index was less than the previous quarter, it was higher than five years ago in the aftermath of the dot.com implosion.
